Police cordoned off a city park after a wartime bomb was found.
Footage from the scene showed police and what appear to be bomb disposal officers working around the lake in Greenbank Park. Police officers were seen guarding the scene.
A cordon also lay near the lake as demining units and police carried out investigations. An eyewitness told ECHO a “bomb” was found by a man looking for his glasses.

They said: “I was walking the dog in Greenbank Park when I saw two guys in the lake. One had lost his glasses so he was looking for them, and that’s where he found the bomb.
“The next minute the police arrived and the park was closed, with the police telling people to stay away.” Bomb disposal workers could also be seen shoveling near the lake near where the object was found.
Merseyside Police have been approached for comment.
