HindSight launches updated V2 goggles for improved style and safety

Hindsight was co-founded by Olympic cyclist Callum Skinner and launched its original design on Kickstarter in 2020, raising over £100,000 while successfully launching the product to market.

Catching the eye of the former professional cyclist and Guinness World Record holder Marc Beaumonthe says of the new V2s: “The mirrored side sections if I’m riding around town make a huge difference in terms of safety – I can just look to the side, see through the lens and move forward safely knowing exactly what’s behind me.”

After having had too many incidences of almost being hit by overtaking traffic, the idea was born. “I thought to myself that if all other road users, from cars to buses, had mirrors, why not cyclists? Why, in a world that considers it so important that cars are legally required to have mirrors, cyclists, the most vulnerable road users without the luxury of seatbelts or airbags, find themselves- they without good options for rear vision? That’s why we created HindSight goggles; we have incorporated a mirror into our patented lenses. This allows the wearer to look behind them by glancing at the outer edge of the lens; check quickly and safely if there are vehicles approaching to overtake. The head can remain facing forward and in a fraction of a second wearers can see if it is safe to come out or not.” Says HindSight CEO alexander macdonald.

HindSight eyewear was developed with the Olympic gold medalist cyclist Callum Skinner but are designed for everyone, from casual commuters and cyclists to full-fledged racers.

“HindSight is basically for everyone the same way cycling should be. With HindSight goggles you can get more information about your surroundings. You know what’s going on and you can make decisions based on it. of this environment.” said Callum SkinnerOlympic gold medalist in the Velodrome and co-founder of HindSight.

Today, with the rise of electric scooters for hire, our goggles are ideal for anyone who shares the road with other vehicles. One of the biggest factors that keeps people from cycling is worrying about their own safety, and more specifically about traffic, our glasses help reduce that worry significantly.

Being able to quickly and safely see what is behind you or pass you is much safer than having to wring your neck. By significantly reducing the blind spot, we can improve the safety of cyclists and help reduce the number of accidents. We want people to feel as safe as possible on the bike, so it’s important to be seen, but also to see, and to see well.” Says HindSight CEO alexander macdonald.
