You can buy these AR smart glasses in the US later this month

The Nreal Light is a pair of mixed reality glasses that will arrive in the United States later this month. It will be sold by Verizon Wireless for $ 599.

There are a handful of options for those who want to get into the AR or VR space. The most popular include the Oculus Quests and HTC’s line of VR VIVE headsets. However, there aren’t many gamers in the mixed reality space, and a significant amount of those available, such as Microsoft HoloLens, are aimed at professionals.

The Nreal Light is confirmed to arrive in the United States this month. George Koroneos (@GLKCreative) made the announcement on Twitter, and he revealed that the glasses would be available in select stores on November 30. Those who want to buy them online will be able to do so from December 2. The edge reports that the glasses will cost $ 599, which is a fraction of the cost of the $ 3,500 HoloLens 2.

The Nreal Light has two cameras for spatial tracking

The Nreal Light looks like a mix between the Amazon Echo Frames and the HTC Vive Flow, however, unlike the Echo Frames, it has two cameras for 6DoF spatial tracking, an RGB photo / HD video camera, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. It also has two speakers and two microphones, one on each temple. There is a wire attached to the glasses with a USB-C connector on the other end that allows users to connect them to a compatible smartphone. Nreal says the Light works with compatible 5G smartphones powered by Qualcomm. However, it has been reported that in the US, Mixed Reality Glasses will work with Samsung Galaxy S21 5G series, Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW, Galaxy S20 5G UW, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G and the OnePlus 8 5G UW. Unfortunately, the device does not have a built-in battery, which is why it only weighs 106 grams.

The glasses work with the phone, which doubles as a controller, as it does with the HTC Vive Flow. Owners can choose to mirror their phone’s display and launch their apps which will be overlaid on the real world. For the full VR experience, Nreal includes a VR blanket that can be attached to the light to block out your surroundings. There is also a case for the glasses inside the box with a clip, nose pads, lens mount and cleaning cloth.
